16:2

[bbe]And he sent for him and said, What is this which is said about you? give me an account of all you have done, for you will no longer be the manager of my property.
[kjv]And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.
16:3
[cuvs]那管家心里说，主人辞我，不用我再作管家，我将来作什么。锄地呢，无力。讨饭呢，怕羞。
[cuvt]那管家心裡說、主人辭我、不用我再作管家、我將來作甚麼．鋤地呢、無力．討飯呢、怕羞。
[bbe]And the servant said to himself, What am I to do now that my lord takes away my position? I have not enough strength for working in the fields, and I would be shamed if I made requests for money from people in the streets.
[kjv]Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.
16:4
[cuvs]我知道怎麽行，好叫人在我不作管家之后，接我到他们家里去。

[bbe]I have come to a decision what to do, so that when I am put out of my position they will take me into their houses.
[kjv]I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
16:5
[cuvs]于是把欠主人债的，一个一个的叫了来，问头一个说，你欠我主人多少。

[bbe]And sending for every one who was in debt to his lord he said to the first, What is the amount of your debt to my lord?
[kjv]So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?
16:6
[cuvs]他说，一百篓油。每篓约五十斤管家说，拿你的账快坐下写五十。

[bbe]And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said, Take your account straight away and put down fifty.
[kjv]And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
16:7
[cuvs]又问一个说，你欠多少。他说，一百石麦子。管家说，拿你的账写八十。

[bbe]Then he said to another, What is the amount of your debt? And he said, A hundred measures of grain. And he said to him, Take your account and put down eighty.
[kjv]Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.
16:8
[cuvs]主人就夸奖这不义的管家作事聪明。因为今世之子，在世事之上，较比光明之子，更加聪明。

[bbe]And his lord was pleased with the false servant, because he had been wise; for the sons of this world are wiser in relation to their generation than the sons of light.
[kjv]And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
16:9
[cuvs]我又告诉你们，要籍着那不义的钱财，结交朋友。到了钱财无用的时候，他们可以接你们到永存的帐幕里去。

[bbe]And I say to you, Make friends for yourselves through the wealth of this life, so that when it comes to an end, you may be taken into the eternal resting-places.
[kjv]And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
16:10
[cuvs]人在最小的事上忠心，在大事上也忠心。在最小的事上不义，在大事上也不义。

[bbe]He who is true in a little, is true in much; he who is false in small things, is false in great.
[kjv]He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
16:11
[cuvs]倘若你们在不义的钱财上不忠心，谁还把那真实的钱财托付你们呢。

[bbe]If, then, you have not been true in your use of the wealth of this life, who will give into your care the true wealth?
[kjv]If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
16:12
[cuvs]倘若你们在别人的东西上不忠心，谁还把你们自己的东西给你们呢。

[bbe]And if you have not been true in your care of the property of other people, who will give you that which is yours?

16:13
[cuvs]一个仆人不能事奉两个主。不是恶这个爱那个，就是重这个轻那个。你们不能又事奉神，又事奉玛门。

[bbe]No man may be a servant to two masters: for he will have hate for the one and love for the other; or he will keep to the one and have no respect for the other. You may not be servants of God and of wealth.
[kjv]No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
16:14

[bbe]And the Pharisees, who had a great love of money, hearing these things, were making sport of him.

[kjv]And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
16:16

[bbe]The law and the prophets were till John: but then came the preaching of the kingdom of God, and everyone makes his way into it by force.

16:17

[bbe]But heaven and earth will come to an end before the smallest letter of the law may be dropped out.
[kjv]And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
16:18
[cuvs]凡休妻另娶的，就是犯奸淫。娶被休之妻的，也是犯奸淫。

[bbe]Everyone who puts away his wife and takes another, is a false husband: and he who is married to a woman whose husband has put her away, is no true husband to her.
[kjv]Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.
16:19

[bbe]And a certain poor man, named Lazarus, was stretched out at his door, full of wounds,

[bbe]Desiring the broken bits of food which came from the table of the man of wealth; and even the dogs came and put their tongues on his wounds.

[cuvs]后来那讨饭的死，被天使放在亚伯拉罕的怀里。财主也死了，并且埋葬了。

[bbe]And in time the poor man came to his end, and angels took him to Abraham's breast. And the man of wealth came to his end, and was put in the earth.
[kjv]And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
16:23

[bbe]And in hell, being in great pain, lifting up his eyes he saw Abraham, far away, and Lazarus on his breast.

16:24

[bbe]And he gave a cry and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may put the end of his finger in water and put it on my tongue, for I am cruelly burning in this flame.
[kjv]And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
16:25
[cuvs]亚伯拉罕说，儿阿，你该回想你生前享过福，拉撒路也受过苦。如今他在这里得安慰，你倒受痛苦。

[bbe]But Abraham said, Keep in mind, my son, that when you were living, you had your good things, while Lazarus had evil things: but now, he is comforted and you are in pain.
[kjv]But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
16:26
[cuvs]不但这样，并且在你我之间，有深渊限定，以致人要从这边过到你们那边，是不能的，要从那边过到我们这边，也是不能的。

[bbe]And in addition, there is a deep division fixed between us and you, so that those who might go from here to you are not able to do so, and no one may come from you to us.
[kjv]And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
16:27

[bbe]And he said, Father, it is my request that you will send him to my father's house;

[bbe]For I have five brothers; and let him give them an account of these things, so that they may not come to this place of pain.

[bbe]But Abraham said, They have Moses and the prophets; let them give ear to what they say.

[bbe]And he said, No, father Abraham, but if someone went to them from the dead, their hearts would be changed.

16:31
[cuvs]亚伯拉罕说，若不听从摩西和先知的话，就是有一个从死里复活的，他们也是不听劝。

[bbe]And he said to him, If they will not give attention to Moses and the prophets, they will not be moved even if someone comes back from the dead.
[kjv]And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
